Southwest Airlines Buys Slots at New York's Guardia
Southwest has agreed to pay $7.5 million for 14 slots that have become available at New York's LaGuardia Airport. The slots previously were owned by ATA, the Indianapolis based airline that ceased operations in April of 2008.
US Airways Reinstates Awards Program
US Airways has reinstated the award program of bonus miles for preferred travelers participating in the airline's loyalty program.

French airline pilots’ unions have called a four-day strike from Friday, November 14 to Monday, November 17. As a result, Air France expects to experience severe disruptions to its operations.

Just hours after the U.S. Justice system approved the merger option, Delta and Northwest announced the merger of the two airlines. Northwest will temporarily become a Delta subsidiary.
