Cruising Ecuador's Galapagos Island
August 4 - 11, 2020
Depart the USA on a flight to Quito, Ecuador. Enjoy a free evening to experience this amazing city on your own.
Enjoy a guided tour of Quito, the first city to be named a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visit 'Mitad del Mundo' and the Equator Monument, which stands at 0 degrees, and feel what it's like to be standing in the middle of the world. During the included city tour, see a bull fighting ring and the gilded Spanish colonial church.
Fly to Baltra and embark the MC Galapagos Legend for a four night cruise. Set sail for Mosquera Islet, a tinny, low lying islet covered in coral sand. Experience your first wet landing and see lazy sea lions sunning themselves on the sand as you reach the shore.
Visit Santiago Island, the fourth largest island in the Urbina Bay and Tagus Cove, providing spectacular views of powerful volcanic activity and a visit to a black volcanic sand beach.
Continue to Urbina Bay and Tagus Cove to see crystal clear waters, views of Alcedo Volcano, and the Galapagos' native fish and penguins.
Visit Espinosa Point on Fernandina Island, one of the most well-preserved of the islands and discover one of the world's most pristine island ecosystems as you hike through a thick canopy of mangroves. See penguins, pelicans, sea lions, and fur seals all ready to pose for your pictures.
As the cruise comes to an end, disembark and journey to the Highlands Tortoise Reserve and see the Galapagos giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Continue to Balta for a flight to Guayaquil with city tour. Flights home the next day.
